Komunala Kranj is on the path to circular economy as well. The “Municipal Material Circles” initiative is one of the steps. I hope that even more types of waste will find their way back to the environment where they were generated. We could change the world with everyday actions in most cases. But we still have a lot of work to do on this unpaved path. I am glad that we are among the first in Slovenia and that others will follow our example.
Matjaž Berčon, Managing Director
This is indeed a great example of reuse, moreover, of reuse of waste that would otherwise burden the environment. Therefore, it is quite logical for us to approach such sustainable programmes, and I am convinced that our public institutions will opt for such cooperation. However, I hope that the technology will continue to advance towards processing or recycling as many different types of waste as possible, so they can be put to good use in various industries. EU Member States have committed themselves to reducing waste sent to landfill by 35 million tonnes a year by 2030, and also by recycling. Reducing and recycling waste, along with responsible attitude to the environment by every individual in society, is essential if we want to preserve our planet for future generations.
Matjaž Rakovec, Mayor
Increasing amounts of waste are a growing concern, posing a threat to the environment and human health as well as reducing natural resources. The Zero Waste project will contribute to economic and social goals, as we are aware that measures to prevent waste generation and promote reuse and recycling are conducive to a better quality of life for us and our descendants.
Rok Roblek, Mayor
The establishment of the material circle and the accession to the Zero Waste network are a logical upgrade of our commitment to the values of Gorniške vasi. Living in such an exceptional mountain environment as Jezersko imposes a great responsibility on us to take care of the environment and conserve nature. In order to move from words to deeds as quickly as possible, we have already provided toilet paper and paper towels from recycled packaging at all public sites in Jezersko.
Andrej Karničar, Mayor
The company is committed to finding new solutions and improvements, in order to reduce environmental pollution, increase the recycling and recovery rate, and consequently significantly reduce the amount of waste disposal. With this policy, we have a major impact on product life cycle – we extend it, while maintaining natural resources. The circular economy is based on the concept of a rotating material cycle, which means that waste materials are processed for their reuse, and consequently, the amounts of disposed or incinerated waste are reduced.
Slopak is a responsible packaging waste management company that ensures that the life cycle of products is closed, which is why we are one of the key stakeholders in the circular economy. We provide a system for collecting, recovering and recycling packaging and non-packaging products, which enables the reuse of secondary raw materials for the production of new products and reduces the impact on the environment. With our knowledge and professionalism, we are building a more sustainable society, and above all, we are looking to the present and the future. Therefore, our mission is also to raise public awareness of the importance of proper waste separation and to encourage environmental protection.
We are aware that we live in a unique green environment and that it is our responsibility to preserve such an environment for the next generations.
The green sustainable orientation was accepted by Surf as its strategic direction. We select our suppliers in accordance with this orientation. By cooperating with suppliers who are committed to environmentally friendly production, we all contribute to the preservation of the green planet Earth.
