We have doubled the amount of recycled UBC in 2022 in Slovenia

Circular Shield is managing the Municipal Material Cycle – a closed material loop of locally collected UBC and recycled hygiene paper. This circular model brings many benefits to the local community and its members – environmental, social and economic.

In 2022 we achieved outstanding results in Slovenia. 462 tons of UBC was sent to recycling – by this we have doubled the volume of the previous year. Since the foundation in 2016, we have made an important contribution to the preservation of natural resources in cooperation with 17 municipalities in Slovenia.

These are the results of our long-term cooperation with Slovenian local communities:

  • 16,148 saved trees
  • 1,240 tons of recovered UBC
  • 1,009 tons less CO2 emissions

By today, over 100 municipal public institutions and companies in Slovenia have decided for environmentally friendly recycled hygiene paper from Municipal Material Cycle.
